When you only make the minimum payment, you are adding in extra interest and late fees. Try to pay off more when you can and as often as you can.
2) Pick up some extra money. Take on some extra jobs at work. Is there special project your boss wants you to work on? Will it pay you more money? Take your boss up on the offer. The extra money can be applied to the debt you owe. You will be free of your debt in time. Practice patience. It will work.
3) There is something called a “bare-bones budget”. It is a new tool available online. Use it. It is going to force you to live within your means. You will need to cut out a lot of extra expenses.
4) Sell off everything and anything you do not need or want. Many of us turn into hoarders and do not realize. Take stock of your life. Get rid of the excess and make some money off of it. Say you make $500 off of the stuff you are selling. This is $500 you can apply to any outstanding debt you may owe. We all have to give up something at some point. It may be your turn in line.
5) Do you have an “expensive habits”? We all have them. Some of us are more inclined to talk about it than others. You may need to re-evaluate your spending habits. Find out where you are coming up short each month and fix it. You may have to give some things up.
6) Avoid any temptations you may have. Some people like to shop online. Some like to go out to eat. Do what you can to avoid these temptations. This is a great way to pay down the debt and avoid creating new problems.
